It consists of night classes that meet 3 times a week for 1 month (12 classes). At this time, classes are held... Wednesday: 6 pm → 9:00 pm Thursday: 6 pm → 9:00 pm Friday: 6 pm → 9:00 pm Classes usually start the first Tuesday of every month. The second part is PRACTICAL TRAINING. From this point on, the course becomes entirely flexible. Students can design their own schedule within the framework of our hours of operation. Currently, this is: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 10 am → 7 pm Saturday: 10 am → 2 pm. We are the only school in Illinois (that we know of) to offer this kind of flexible schedule. We have found that a flexible schedule like ours, maximizes your learning without infringing on your daily life. CURRICULUMNail Technology Program The Academy boasts a cutting edge curriculum designed to give you a strong foundation for entry-level nail technician jobs in the United States, not just Illinois. First, we'll teach you the "ins and outs" of sanitation and disinfections. More and more salons and nail techs are being criticized in the media for a lack of cleanliness. We'll show you how to be clean and what to do to avoid this kind of negative attention. Next we'll give you a thorough understanding of manicures and pedicures: Theory, Procedure, and then Practice. These are the most basic services all nail techs provide clients. More importantly, this will be your "bread and butter" after this course is over. Don't worry, you'll know what you're doing. Finally we show you the whole scope of artificial nails. From acrylics, gels, fiberglass, to acrylic alternative, we teach you with the same nail products used by techs in some of the finest salons in the country. In fact, we are proud that the acrylic system we use is difficult for even most licensed professionals to grasp. During PRACTICAL TRAINING, you will perform services on actual clients. After 350 hours of training, you will able to do everything a nail technician does. We teach you with the best. Its our way of assuring that you will be the best you can be. Teacher Training Program The Academy is pleased to announce the addition of a nail teaching course to our curriculum. This program is designed for those nail technicians with at least 2 years experience who wish to become instructors in their own right. An instructor's license will typically qualify someone to become a Training Instructor for salon or spa chains. This title will afford the nail technician with greater compensation and more benefits. Those who are instructed should call the school immediately. The teaching program is a 500 hour course that will give the participant a chance to lead Theory classes under the supervision of a certified instructor. They will also have the chance to monitor clinic activities in Pratical Training as well. Contnuing Education Program Every 2 years (even numbered), all nail technicians are required to renew their license with the state of Illinois. The Academy offers weekend classes that can be used toward satisfying this 10 hour requirement. PAYMENT OPTIONSYes, we have GRANTS that will cover the full cost of tuition and don't have to be repaid. For details, please call the school. For information about tuition and other financing options, please call the school. Scholarships available for those who qualify.
